So I bought a Toyota Ipod Interface Adaptor from Axxess digital interface a brand of Metra Electronics Corporation at Circuit City. And it kinda doesn't fit my 2003 Camry since it is made for 2004-Up Camry. But I wanted to try anyway, since 2002-current Camrys are "similar". Product Images: The Ipod Interface will allow the user to play ipod in the car digitally. The Product has three components: (1) Ipod Interface Box (2) Cable connecting the interface box to the back of the radio (3) Cable connecting the ipod to the interface box. (1) Ipod Interface Box ![]() The interface box has two ends, one connecting to the radio, one connecting to the ipod. ![]() ![]() (2) Cable connecting the interface box to the back of the radio ![]() The cable is a "Y-Cable" with one side connecting to the interface box and the other to the radio. ![]() ![]() (3) Cable connecting the ipod to the interface box. ![]() Getting My Hands Dirty: So I took apart my radio unit and discovers.. this: ![]() At the moment, I thought, darn it, it doesn't fit. There are three jacks in the back, I assumed the empty one was for my "Ipod Interface" But after detailed examination, I came up with a theory, it actually might work. See, there are two connections to be plugged into the radio unit: ![]() My theory: Plug B (already connected to radio by default) would come out and get plugged into B of the interface. While Plug A would get plugged into the radio. A and B will be routed to the Interface Box which will transmit audio from the Ipod. Thoughts? |
